Modo(s)

Modo(s) is the first part of a series of group exhibitions featuring emerging artists from the Brussels scene. Modo(s) is the first project in a series of collective exhibitions based on the sharing of knowledge & skills, as well as on increasing visibility & fostering connections between self-managed cultural spaces. Modo(s) is the first project in a series of exhibitions that is particularly close to our hearts, as we see curation as a necessary means of expression within our artistic practice as a duo, always driven by collaboration. Modo(s) is the first project in a series of exhibitions that will welcome artists whose practices have inspired and challenged our work for several years. Modo(s) is a term whose Latin root refers to limits, law, and the right way to proceed. Today, it is used online to refer to individuals ensuring compliance with rules and the integrity of all users on social networks and forums. Modo(s) does not propose a “right way to proceed” but rather slows things down, questions the meaning of public space, and disrupts the haste of production through absurdity, irony, and semiotic deviation—tools employed by the 13 exhibiting artists.
