Jonathan Lejeune is a Belgian painter and electronic musician whose general practice is based on intuition. Influenced by Art Brut and 80s painting, his work can claim to be iconoclastic in that figuration becomes only a pretext for the action of painting. The aim of this serious game of painting is to reach, like an unattainable horizon, the idea of a true painting ("true" being more of a discussion than an absolute), composed of relatively simple, two-dimensional elements. As for the subjects chosen, they often involve catharsis, autobiographical events or imaginary stories, creating a blurred, even uncomfortable zone for the viewer.
