Francesco Battistello

Battistello Francesco was born in Italy in 1994. After studying painting at the Venice Academy of Fine Arts, he decided to move to Belgium and obtained a Master's degree in painting at La Cambre in 2022, followed by a nine-month residency at the Moonens Foundation. Battistello is interested in the relationship between pictorial material and narrations, which can be established between images painted on canvas. He develops his interests by drawing on the intangible heritage of art history across several decades, which he reworks and renews in his paintings.
