wip collective is a Brussels-based artist duo comprising Jérôme Boulanger (BE) and Thibaut Drouillon (BE), co-founded in 2021. Their practice focuses on imagery and forms of collective literature drawn from the public domain – that is to say, widely disseminated, consensual or uncontested visual and literary forms. By reviving these familiar yet neglected representations, the duo questions the symbolic systems they construct, as well as their capacity to shape cultural memory, social narratives and contemporary public systems of meaning. Their visual art plays with forms of incongruity or absurdity found in the real world and with materials generally regarded as utilitarian.
