"Through my work I explore relationships between technology and nature’s cycles. I investigate how natural and human-made matter intimately shape conditions of vulnerability, vitality, and coexistence but also hostility and dissonance.
Reflecting critically on technology’s manipulative processes, I explore sculpture as a medium of editing the temporality of matter. I am interested in how temporal, cyclical material transformations can be abstracted; exploring acceleration, reversal and pausing as sculptural processes. For example sculptural works are created by using discarded plants that I processed by removing the chlorophyll, in this way wishing to evoke a feeling of pausing the energy they carry with them.
I compose sculptural, immersive installations that create speculative environments to reflect on what is neither entirely real nor entirely fictitious; neither wholly natural nor entirely artificial."
